Serverless Architecture Overview

The Global Ski Atlas leverages a sophisticated serverless AWS architecture to collect, process, and serve data about ski resorts worldwide.

Data Ingestion Pipeline

Resort data is collected from OpenStreetMap through a Step Functions workflow that orchestrates Lambda functions to process and store resort information.

API Layer

Two API Gateway endpoints serve the frontend:

Resort Selection API: Provides dropdown menu data
AI Description API: Generates resort descriptions
